Markdown Formatting Tips

Several fields on NightCafe support basic Markdown formatting. For inline styles, add specific symbols at the start and end of the phrase you want to format. For example, only the words inside the underscores will be italic.

Share a prompt

To share a prompt with copy and use buttons, use the following format: three backticks, followed by prompt, then the prompt text, then three more backticks. For example:

```prompt
A photo of a cat in the style of a pencil sketch
```

Blockquote

> Blockquote — start the line with a greater-than sign followed by a space (> )

Lists

Unordered lists

  • Start with a hyphen (-) followed by a space
  • Use new lines for new points

Ordered lists

  1. Start with a number followed by a period, e.g. 1. Point one
  2. Keep going for new list items

These formatting options work in profile bios, creation descriptions, challenge descriptions, chat room settings, and other text fields that show a formatting tips link.
