How tags work on NightCafe, and how to use them to organise and share your art.
A tag is a short keyword you attach to a creation to describe it — like landscape, portrait or cyberpunk. Tags make your own gallery easy to filter, and on published creations they also help other people discover your work.
Open one of your creations and choose Edit Creation. Type a tag into the Tags field and press Enter, Tab or a comma to add it. Repeat to add more. You'll also find the Tags field when publishing a creation, under More Options.
To save time, NightCafe shows your Recent tags beneath the field — click one to add it instantly. To remove a tag, use the remove (×) control on it.
To keep tags consistent and searchable, each tag must:
You can add up to 5 tags per creation. New tags are quickly checked for suitability before they're added, so a tag that breaks the rules or isn't allowed won't be saved.
To tag lots of creations together, use select mode in My Creations: turn on selecting with the folder icon in the toolbar, tick the creations you want, then click Set tags. Choose Add tags to apply tags to all of them, or Remove tags to take them off. See Selecting Multiple Creations (Bulk Actions) for more.
Tags are a quick way to find your own work. There are two ways to filter My Creations by a tag:
Your gallery then shows only the creations with that tag. Clear the filter to return to your full library.
Tags also power discovery across NightCafe. Click a #tag on a published creation in the feed to open its tag page (for example, /tag/landscape). The tag page — titled “AI Art tagged with …” — shows published creations from across the community that share that tag, newest first. It's a great way to explore a theme or find inspiration.
Only published creations appear on public tag pages. Tags on your private creations are used just for your own filtering and aren't shown to anyone else.
Tags and collections both help you organise, but they work differently:
Many creators use both together. For the bigger picture, see Organising Your Creations.
