Yes. New creations are private by default, they are not posted to the main Explore feed until you explicitly publish them.

When you generate an image or video in Studio, it is saved to My Creations as a private creation. Other users cannot see it on the main feed until you publish it.

Exception: The newbie feed

If you are a new user, your first few eligible creations may be automatically shared to the newbie feed so other community members can welcome you. This is not the same as publishing to the main feed, your creation stays private until you choose to publish it.

In Studio, you may see: "This creation will be visible to other users in the newbie feed."

You can remove a creation from the newbie feed without publishing it to the main feed. Open the creation and follow the link to remove it from the newbie feed, or publish it to the main feed using the Publish button.

Publishing preferences

When you do publish to the main feed, your default settings apply (such as whether comments are allowed, gallery visibility, and copy protection). You can set these defaults at:

Account settings → Set your default publishing preferences (/account/publishing-settings)

Default publishing preferences control how creations behave when you publish — they do not automatically make creations public on the main feed.

Promptle prompt sharing

The same publishing preferences page also has a Promptle section. This setting is separate from creation publishing:

• It is off by default.
• If you turn on “Share my Promptle prompts on leaderboards after each puzzle closes”, other players can see the edit prompts you used on that play — but only after the day's puzzle closes.
• You can still change sharing for an individual Promptle play from the leaderboard.
• This does not publish your Promptle images to Explore.
