What is P Image Upscale?
P Image Upscale is NightCafe’s newest regular upscaler. It increases the resolution of an existing creation. When you open Upscale on a creation, P Image Upscale is the default model. Real-ESRGAN models are still available in the same modal if you prefer them.
What it’s good at
- Large, clean enlargements — integer scales of 2×, 4×, 6×, 8×, or 16×, as long as the result stays within the size limit.
- Optional extra detail — Enhance detail sharpens fine textures and small details.
- Optional extra realism — Enhance realism can make the result look more photographic, and may change the image more than a plain upscale.
How to use it
- Open a finished creation.
- Choose Upscale (it may show a New Model label).
- Leave the upscale model set to P Image Upscale, or pick it from the list.
- Choose an Upscale Size. Each option shows the output pixels and the credit cost.
- Optionally turn on Enhance detail and/or Enhance realism.
- Start the upscale.
Good to know
- Credit cost is based on the output resolution, not the scale factor. The price is shown next to each size.
- Typical costs: about 1 credit up to 4 megapixels of output, then 2 / 3 / 4 / 6 / 12 credits as the output gets larger.
- The largest result is 16× the original, or 128 megapixels, whichever is reached first. If a size would exceed that limit, it is not offered.
- If the creation is already at the maximum size for the selected model, try another upscale model.
- P Image Upscale is the regular Upscale tool. Creative Upscale (Clarity Upscaler) is a separate option that invents new detail while enlarging.
