I was charged after changing my plan

If you were charged after changing your subscription plan, that is expected behaviour — but we understand it can be confusing if it looks like you were billed for two plans at once.

Why it can look like you were charged twice

When you change plans, you are charged the full price of your new plan immediately. You are not charged a partial upgrade fee or given a pro-rated discount for unused time on your old plan.

At the same time, your previous plan's payment is not automatically refunded. So if your plan change happened soon after a renewal, you may see charges for both plans on your statement.

This is because you receive the full credit allotment for each plan — the credits from your previous plan remain on your account, and you also receive the full credits for your new plan once payment succeeds.

How plan changes work

  • Plan changes are billed immediately — your payment method is charged right away for the full new plan price.
  • You receive the full credit pack for your new plan as soon as the payment succeeds (usually within a few minutes).
  • Your next renewal date is reset to one full billing period from the change date.
  • Plan changes are not prorated — there is no automatic refund or credit for unused time on your old plan.

Can I get a refund for my old plan?

If you have not spent any credits from your previous plan since that payment, contact us via the feedback form and we can look into issuing a refund for that charge.

Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. See our Refund Policy for full details.

What to check

  1. Go to Manage subscription and review the Payments table for receipt links and dates.
  2. Check Credit History to confirm your new credits arrived.
  3. If the charge does not match the plan you selected, or credits did not arrive, contact us via the feedback form with your account email and the charge date.
