Overview

Nano Banana (officially Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) is Google's image model on NightCafe. It's known for strong editing accuracy, subject consistency, and high-quality transformations — useful if you want detailed edits without losing realism.

You can use Nano Banana for both text-to-image generation and image editing.

For new work, prefer Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana 2 Lite, or Nano Banana Pro in the same family. They keep the same editing strengths and will remain available after October 2, 2026.

Where to find Nano Banana

1. Go to the Studio.
2. Open the Model picker.
3. Select Nano Banana (it may be labelled Gone Soon).
4. Use it for text-to-image or image editing, depending on your project.

Using Nano Banana for text-to-image

1. Choose text-to-image.
2. Enter your prompt. Example: Ultra-realistic portrait of a skateboarder turned into a stylized 3D figurine, cinematic lighting, vibrant detail.
3. Generate your image.
4. Adjust and re-run generations to refine results.

Using Nano Banana for image editing

1. Add or upload the image you want to edit.
2. Describe the change (for example a background swap, outfit change, or new art style).
3. Generate to preview.
4. Continue with smaller follow-up edits until you're satisfied.

Tips for best results

• Keep prompts clear and detailed — describe style, subject, and lighting.
• Make smaller, step-by-step edits instead of changing everything at once.
• Save after each successful edit to maintain quality.
• Use high-resolution settings when available.

Common issues

Distortion or loss of detail

• This can happen if edits are stacked too aggressively. Try re-uploading the last clean version.

Inconsistent subjects

• Add key descriptors to your prompt (for example “same woman” or “identical face”) to keep the subject consistent.

Resolution limits

• May apply depending on your NightCafe plan.
