Creating a Game (Community Challenge)

Creating a Game (Community Challenge)

A Game (also called a Community Challenge) is a mini-competition you can run in a chat room: players submit creations to a theme, then everyone scores them. Here’s how to set one up.

Discoverability

Games are private by default — anyone with the link can join. A game in a public chat room can be found via “Find a game”. Making a new game public also makes its chat room public.

The four phases

  1. Starting soon — waiting for players to join; the host can skip ahead when ready.
  2. Entries open — each player submits one entry (which they can replace). Late joiners can still enter.
  3. Voting / Ranking open — players score the entries.
  4. Finished — results are published, with your placement and score.

Scoring options

  • Vote (like the Daily Challenge) — players rate each entry; the highest average wins.
  • Rank — players pick and order their top favourites; points are awarded by position.

Rules you can set

  • Allow NSFW — follows the chat room’s content rating (PG-13 and below disallow NSFW).
  • Enforce NightCafe Challenge Checks — applies the same eligibility rules as the Daily Challenge.
  • Allow PRO models and Allow uploads — off by default when challenge checks are enforced.
  • Custom prompt rules — e.g. limit word count, or require/forbid certain words.
  • Custom model rules — specify which models are allowed or forbidden.

Auto-advance

By default each phase advances when its timer ends (or when the host skips). You can also let the game auto-skip a phase once everyone has submitted or voted.
